Poems

3 Feb

The first month of 2013 went fast. Or should I say that I didn’t have much time. Life still goes on.

While packing my personal stuff, I discovered in a small notebook some poems. I probably wrote those poems when I was in love or brokenhearted. It’s so high school material. But I kept them. I have an own diary in which I write the poems or notes when I want to express something. So my ‘newly discovered’ poems are now in my personal diary.

While going trough the diaries, I read my poems again. I think I started writing these poems when I’s in the 2nd year of high school.  But I’ve never been that artistic with words. No rhymes for me. Bad at it. But, I let the pen go when my heart is filled with emotions.

Because the diary is now in the box, I can’t share one of my poems today. But I am going to share a love poem which is close to my heart. Btw, it’s a Shakespearean Love Sonnet:

O Mistress mine

              O Mistress mine, where are you roaming?

O, stay and hear; your true love’s coming,

That can sing both high and low:

Trip no further, pretty sweeting;

Journeys end in lovers meeting,

Every wise man’s son doth know.

What is love? ‘Tis not hereafter;

Present mirth hath present laughter;

What’s to come is still unsure:

In delay there lies not plenty;

Then, come kiss me, sweet and twenty,

Youth’s a stuff will not endure.

They say…

… That mothers are their daughter’s rolemodel

Yes, it’s true, you are my own great rolemodel

You’re the strongest person on earth I’ve ever known

You can face any difficulty

You’re a multitasker

And you spread love all the time

You pray for everyone in need

… That one good mother is worth a hundred schoolmasters

Yes, that’s also true, because you’re the best teacher I’d ever have

Since the day I was born

You taught me everything to become a good human being

You taught me eating with the spoon, brushing my teeth, combing my hair

You taught me counting on my fingers

You taught me the a,b,c,d,….

You taught me writing the essential letters

You taught me writing my own name

And also how to draw

…She’s her daughter’s best friend

You’re not only my best friend, but also the greatest inspiration, advisor, well-wisher,

And someone that could sacrifice everything anytime for her family

… A daughter is one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to give

But I say that a mother’s the most beautiful gift, the greatest blessing, one could have in her life

And someday, I want to become a MOM like you! ❤

Go Brazil!

Brasil foto

A few days ago I found pictures of my high school years. One of them was taken on the last day of school in 2006, in high school which was the the openings day of FIFA WORLD CUP.  We bought shirts of our favorite team , Brazil,  as we  supported it and those shirts were worn at the farewell party of our school.  We wanted to let people know that we were ‘ Brazilians’ and ofcourse we got a lot attention! I was at that time totally confident that Brazil would win it, but no chance! I remember that in the third year of secondary school, in 2002, during an exam school I was listening to my pocket radio. Brazil was playing. When the first goal was made, I had to control myself not to be much enthusiastic in the classroom. In 2002, Brazil won the World Cup. Last time, the team lost but even this time I’ll continue supporting them.  I’m also in for the WC fever in Suriname!
