Along with Havan, we had the Mehndi(henna) night. In this case, I was the one who put mehndi for my sis.

Mehndi is the application of Henna to decorate you skin, mostly on hands and feet, for a temporary period. It is used on occasions as weddings and Divali. It is not only used in India, but also in African and Arabic countries. For more details about mehndi, click here and visit this website.

My friend, a fellow photographer, Debby Tjong A Hung(click here), visited us and also took some shots. The first photo below is taken by her. I’m thankful to here because while applying the mehndi I couldn’t take photos by myself.

For clients, I always tried to put the mehndi as best as possible, but in my opinion, I didn’t put the best mehndi and I’m not really satisfied with the result. The deep color is quite satisfying. Our aunt brought a new (to us) henna powder from India which was mixed by the Bride itself. For the first time we used glitter mehndi and we were also happy with the result. This glitter mehndi can be used on the day of the occasion and sticks very well on the skin.

All of these photos were taken yesterday.
